How to make a cheap iPhone stand: What you’ll need
For this little DIY project all you’ll need are the cardboard tube from a toilet roll, some wrapping paper, a sharp knife, sticky tape, scissors, some pins, and a ruler. Oh yes, and your phone.
How to make a cheap iPhone stand: Building the stand
First up take the toilet roll tube and decorate it with the wrapping paper. You could also use tape, marker pens, or leave it in its natural state if aesthetics aren’t your thing.
Next you’ll need to measure your phone to see how wide and deep a gap you’ll need to make to fit it into the roll.
Mark out the area on the roll that you need to cut out. You’ll want it to be as near the centre as possible so that the stand is balanced.
With that done it’s time to take your sharp knife and get cutting. This can be fiddly so be careful not to hurt yourself.
If all goes well you’ll have a slot that will snugly hold onto your iPhone.
The last bit of construction is to fit pins to the front and back of the roll. These will act as stabilising legs that keep your phone upright. Just be sure to place the pins near the ends of the roll so that they don’t scratch the display.
That’s it. You’re all done. Now just pop your phone in the slot and admire your creation.
Of course with a little more time and finesse you can turn a quick project like this into something far more artistic, especially if you use washi tape, markers, or anything else that takes your fancy.
